AVTV is the campus television channel for Asbury Methodist Village, a retirement community in Gaithersburg, Maryland. AVTV first started in the 90’s from the basement of Diamond building by few interested residents, led by former resident and broadcast engineer Jim Cunningham. In 2001, operations moved to the newly built Rosborough Cultural Arts and Wellness Center. AVTV continues to be run in part by resident volunteers who serve on the AVTV Board, as video editors, camera operators, close captioning editors, and ushers among many other duties. Today our studio is named after Dan Muller, a long time dedicated volunteer, board member and patron of AVTV, who passed away in 2020.
